A project cold “The Development of the Horse Museum”
    A project cold “The Development of the Horse Museum”, sponsored by PHARE 2000 ESS found, was carried out in the Horse Museum in 2003. The project aimed ad solving the problems of survival and protection of the unique valuables of the Horse Museum as well as the sanitary problems. Carrying out the project, there were substituted the worn-out roofs of the ethnographic farm and the barn where the exposition is located. The water-supply and burglar-alarm systems were constructed too. Also there were carried out the advertising activities: a number of publications and new editions on the Horse Museum were published and a website was created as well as information stands were made.
    The Museum expects the renovation of the Museum buildings and the developed spread of information will increase the number of visitors. It was clearly noticed already in the process of carrying out the project.
    The opportunities of developing the Horse Museum activities are under discussions now. To turn the Horse Museum and attractive tourist destination in all aspects, the Museum plans to construct a closed manage, renovate the present hippodrome and build some more farms of Aukstaitija region.
